CEO Stephen Ellis started his career in residential development in the 1980’s.  For the last 30-years he has specialised in restoring and developing residential accommodation in inner-city UK suburbs where, for hundreds of years, space was at a premium and housing was established to cater for medium to high density. Growing up in a community in Scotland where every “nook and cranny” was utilized, Stephen successfully translates optimized design into the current Australian appetite for urban living. Such an advantage can only be gained from years of experience and hundreds of properties.

Locally in Townsville, Ellis Developments owns and manages multiple commercial and retail spaces. The iconic art-deco building at 1 Ingham Road, Townsville was a special project that needed a lot of rennovation before it could be tenanted. Through our vision, the building was systematically renovated from top to bottom, restoring it to include multiple residential dwellings on upper level and office / retail space on ground floor.  Since then, Ellis Developments has developed numerous commercial properties around the city.

When it comes to urban land design, house and land need to be looked at as one design. This is why we reverse engineer the land with the house designs in mind first. This ensures our developments are harmonious in design and our clients get the best possible outcome. We approach all land sub-divisions holistically, starting with acute considerations given to orientation, airflow, aspect, views, and solar impact and then design our homes based on those factors.
